We’re recruiting the next generation of Ocean Conservationists to help us protect the marine environment!

ORCA have been working on board cruise ships and ferries since 2001, giving guests unforgettable wildlife experiences and enhancing their understanding of the marine environment. ORCA Ocean Conservationists are talented, inspiring individuals who work on ferries and cruise ships, delivering unforgettable wildlife experiences. Travelling across the world, they deliver innovative education programmes teaching people from all backgrounds about the marine environment whilst at the same time collecting important scientific data about some of the richest habitats in the ocean. They act as passionate ambassadors for ORCA and are the face of the charity, reaching tens of thousands of guests each year.

This course, starting in October 2022, will see candidates participate in a four-month online training programme that will teach them all the skills they need to deliver exceptional experiences at sea. After passing this course, they will then be given the opportunity to put their new skills into practice during an intensive at-sea training course, engaging with real guests and experiencing life on the ocean first-hand.

After completing the training programme, candidates will be placed on ships and delivering Ocean Conservationist programmes across our ferry and cruise network. Every opportunity gives Ocean Conservationists the chance to inspire a whole new group of guests, teaching them about life beneath the waves and about the work ORCA is doing to protect whales and dolphins for future generations.

This one-of-a-kind programme is limited to a handful of places that are available on application only. Candidates should send a CV and a two-minute video explaining why they are perfect to be an Ocean Conservationist to [email protected] by 12 pm on Wednesday 31st August 2022.
