Over the last few weeks we have been busy at ORCA HQ putting ferry survey teams together for our March, April and May surveys. We can now confirm that all of these survey places have been filled.
Due to the high volume of applications received, unfortunately, we have been unable to individually email all unsuccessful applicants for each survey. You may still be notified of any cancellations and offered a survey place at short notice on a route that you have applied for.
ORCA Polo Shirt
If you have been allocated a survey and have not yet purchased your ORCA Marine Mammal Surveyor polo shirt, you can do this directly from the Shirtworks website. You will not be permitted access to the bridge without wearing your ORCA polo shirt. For information on how to purchase your ORCA polo shirt please visit the Applying for Surveys page of the Surveyor Network.
Please remember that Marine Mammal Surveyors must not wear their ORCA uniform when travelling as passengers, in their own time, on any ferry operated by a company that ORCA works in partnership with.
ORCA Ferry Surveys June-August
We will shortly be opening applications for our ferry surveys taking place in June, July and August. Priority will be given to our Marine Mammal Surveyors who have not yet taken part in a ferry survey in 2026. We will continue to keep you updated on the progress of applications via the Surveyor Network News pages.
IMPORTANT: Marine Mammal Surveyor Forms and Passports
All surveyors must have completed a Marine Mammal Surveyor Form which can be found here, for applications to be considered. Please note this form needs to be completed every year, and when any details change.
There are a number of Marine Mammal Surveyors who have applied for surveys in March, April and May and have not been offered a place because they have not submitted an up to date form.
We have also received applications from Marine Mammal Surveyors who's passports are not valid for the surveys they have applied for, and have therefore not been offered a place.
Please note that all surveyors wishing to take part in surveys to European countries must have at least 6 months validity on their passport on the date of departure, and the passport's date of issue must be less than 10 years before arrival.
