In July, four ferry surveys took place on the west coast of Scotland with our longstanding partner, Caledonian MacBrayne. Our team of surveyors on the Oban-Castlebay route on the 14th July recorded common dolphins, minke whales and bottlenose dolphins during their surveys; our team of surveyors on the Oban-Coll-Tiree-Colonsay route on the 27th July recorded common dolphins, minke whales, harbour porpoise and grey seals, with an impressive 122 individual animals recorded during their surveys!
The Uig-Lochmaddy-Tarbert team had a fantastic survey on the 16th July with sightings of harbour porpoise, common dolphins, a humpback whale and minke whales. They recorded a total of 84 individual animals during their surveys to and from Uig.

The team on the Ullapool-Stornoway route were treated to a pod of five orca, as well as 112 common dolphins, harbour porpoise and minkes whales. They recorded an impressive 130 individual animals in total during their survey on the 21st July.
