I am thrilled to say that our Newcastle-Amsterdam surveys have been confirmed by our longstanding partner DFDS, and the applications are now open.
Full details of the surveys, how to apply and what is required of ORCA volunteers on board can be found on the Applying for Surveys page on the Surveyor Network.
Please note applications will close at midnight on Wednesday 1st March 2023, and we will keep you all informed of the progress of the survey teams via the Surveyor Network News page.
If you have not yet purchased your ORCA Marine Mammal Surveyor polo shirt, you can do this via our online shop. You will not be permitted access to the bridge without wearing your ORCA polo shirt. Please note that you need to be logged into the Surveyor Network for the polo shirt to be visible on the shop, as these are exclusively for our Marine Mammal Surveyors.
Ferry Survey Application Update
The survey teams for March and April have now been confirmed, and we are now starting to work through the May survey applications. All successful applicants will receive an email from ORCA with details of the survey they have been allocated.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, unfortunately, we are unable to individually email all unsuccessful applicants each month, but we will keep everyone updated on the progress of surveys via the Surveyor Network News page.
Saga Cruise Survey Team Update
The Saga cruise teams for the 2023 season have now been confirmed, and we cannot wait to hear all about their sightings! The first cruise team is currently sailing the Norwegian coastline, and we will be posting updates from the teams on our social media channels, so please keep an eye out for what they are seeing.
We look forward to your ferry survey applications.
