NGOs stand united in their outrage at the dolphin hunts in the Faroe Islands.

The Faroe Islands have come under global scrutiny and significant opposition within the country following the mass slaughter of Atlantic white-sided dolphins in September 2021. The Faroese Government conducted a review of the dolphin hunt, which concluded in July 2022 with an annual quota being set for dolphin killings.

ORCA is outraged at this result, and cannot understand how the formalisation of something that was previously unformalised can be spun as a positive step forward for dolphins. A joint statement, made with many other leading NGOs committed to the conservation of cetaceans, has been released this week and can be by clicking the button below.
