A team of ORCA supporters braved the River Ouse to compete in a dragon boat race to test their mettle against 35 other teams and raise money for the charity at the same time!
DGP Intelsius, one of ORCA's Corporate Members, competed in the annual York Dragon Boat Race. The team were up against stiff competition from experienced dragon boaters but still managed a respectable 17th place finish after logging a fastest time of 01:18:53.
As well as putting their paddling skills to the test, the team were also raising money for ORCA to build on the fantastic donation they already give as Corporate Members, and raised an incredible £1032 to support our whale and dolphin conservation work.
Funds raised from the race were also given to two other great local York charities - KYRA Women's Charity and the Big Future's Foundation.
