ORCA’s partnership with Fred Olsen launched in 2019 with two Ocean Conservationists on board the Boudicca on an inaugural Cruise to Iceland. Fred Olsen is the largest family-owned cruise company and caters for a primarily adult audience. On board, Cruise Conservationists will deliver lectures, run Q&A sessions, as well as running deck watches, helping guests to identify the wildlife they see and recording data.
“We know that our guests love being on deck, looking out for whales, dolphins and other marine mammals. ORCA’s Ocean Conservationists enrich our onboard experience, by sharing their vast knowledge and insight with our guests.
In turn, it also allows us to play our part in supporting ORCA’s vital research on wildlife populations, to help monitor and safeguard our oceans for future generations. It is something that we are really proud to be involved with.”Peter Deer Managing Director at Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines
