Firstly, welcome to the new ORCA website and Surveyor Network! Also, thank you for your patience and understanding with the delay in updates on here whilst we streamline everything.
The 2023 survey season is starting to wind down and we are very much looking forward to providing you with an end-of-season report in due course. With this year being our first full complement of surveys post Covid we have focussed on ensuring surveyors who had their surveys cancelled in 2020, 2021 and 2022 were offered surveys. All survey places have now been filled for 2023, but if any additional surveys and places become available we will be in contact.
Some of the highlights so far this season include:
- Recommencing surveys in the North Sea after a three-year break
- Training up 17 new Team Leaders - which means opportunities for more surveys and routes in 2024
- Welcoming two new survey ferry routes - Newhaven-Dieppe with DFDS and Mallaig-Lochboisdale with Caledonian MacBrayne
