ORCA's long-running Marine Mammal Surveyor courses have always been a hit but 2023 showed demand for citizen science has hit a new high, with both courses selling out.

Due to popular demand, ORCA have today released an extra course date for early 2024 to give those who has missed out the chance to start their journey helping to protect whales and dolphins around the world.

The course is available for purchase on the ORCA website immediately and will take place on Saturday 24 February 2024, just in time for the start of the 2024 survey season.

ORCA's Head of Education, Anna Bunney, said: "The huge demand for our courses in 2023 show how much interest there is in citizen science. We're so happy to be offer a brand new generation of volunteers to play their part in safeguarding whales and dolphins in February and can't wait to welcome a new cohort into the ORCA family."

Course places are available for £120 and more information is available on our Marine Mammal Surveyor course page.
