Dear Marine Mammal Surveyors,
Over the last few weeks we have been busy at ORCA HQ putting the final ferry survey teams together for the 2024 survey season. I can confirm that all survey places for September, October and November have now been filled.
Due to the high volume of applications received, unfortunately, we have been unable to individually email all unsuccessful applicants for each survey. You may still be notified of any cancellations for the remainder of the survey season, and offered a survey place at short notice on a route that you have applied for.
ORCA Polo Shirt
If you have been allocated a survey and have not yet purchased your ORCA Marine Mammal Surveyor polo shirt, you can do this directly from the Shirtworks website. You will not be permitted access to the bridge without wearing your ORCA polo shirt. ORCA Ferry Surveys 2025
We will shortly be commencing our planning for the 2025 ferry season, and applications for these surveys will be open in the New Year. We will continue to keep you updated on the progress of this via the Surveyor Network News pages.
Saga Cruise Opportunities 2025
We are delighted that Saga have once again offered ORCA survey teams places on board their cruise ships - Spirit of Discovery and Spirit of Adventure in 2025. Full details of the cruises, how to apply, and what is required of ORCA volunteers on board will be available in September.
